Visit of Slatina Elementary School to the Faculty of Science, Split

On April 21, 2023, students from Slatina Elementary School visited the Department of Biology at the Faculty of Science in Split to isolate essential oils and hydrosols. The students were introduced to various extraction techniques and with the help of the Faculty of Science employees (Ivana Vrca, Valerija Dunkić, and Marija Nazlić), they managed to isolate the essential oil and hydrosol using a modern extraction technique (microwave-assisted extraction). The device for the isolation of essential oils and hydrosols was purchased as part of the research project IP-2020-02-8425 (CROVeS-PhyBA) of the Croatian Science Foundation (HrZZ).
