Our members Larisa Zoranić, Tomislav Rončević, Anamarija Budimir and Iva Stojan attended the 12th International Meeting on Antimicrobial Peptides held in Dublin from August 25-27. Iva Stojan won the travel bursary for PhD students and post-docs. Tomislav Rončević held the oral presentation “Activity and the Mode of Action of Antimicrobial Peptides and Their Fragments Identified in Helminths”. Larisa Zoranić presented the poster entitled “The Role of Small [GAS]XXX[GAS] Motifs in Peptide Self-Association: A Case Study of Designed Antimicrobial Peptides Adepantins” by M. Maleš, A. Budimir, D. Juretić and L. Zoranić. Anamarija Budimir had the poster presentation entitled “Revealing the membrane related mechanism of action of antimicrobial peptide TSO8 from Taenia solium and its fragments” by A. Budimir, I. Stojan, L. Krce, R. Čopac, M. Maleš, M. Gerdol, M. Mardirossian, A. Caporale, S. Pacor, T. Rončević, A. Tossi and L. Zoranić. Iva Stojan presented the poster entitled “Interaction of antimicrobial peptides with bacterial membranes revealed by microscale thermophoresis” by T. Rončević, I. Stojan and L. Zoranić. It has been agreed that the upcoming 13th International Conference on Antimicrobial Peptides will be held at the Faculty of Science, University of Split from September 2-4, 2026.
